De Glazen Toren

De Glazen Toren Saison d'Erpe-Mere ...$12.99 / 750ml
The Saison was the first beer of the brewery.Saison is a blonde beer brewed according to the ancient Saison tradition of the province of Hainaut. The French sounding name of the beer clearly refers to this.

Saison d’ Erpe-Mere is brewed exclusively with natural ingredients: artesian water, barley and wheat malts, liquid sugar, hops and yeast.
The result is a dry, hoppy, fruity and slightly veiled beer with 7.5 % alc. vol.

Cuvee Angelique Historic Recipe...$12.99 / 750 ml

Cuvee Angelique Historic Recipe...$32.99 / 1.5ltr
"The “Speciale Belge” beer style was created in 1904 for a brewing contest that was organized by the Universities of Belgium. The goal was to improve the quality of Belgian beer. The winner was a new style, called “Belge”. Due to the success in the contest, a number of brewers decided to brew the style and called it “Speciale Belge”.
A “Speciale Belge” is pale amber in color (slighly darker than a pilsner) as brewers tried to copy the color of pilsner in a top fermenting ale. Later the color became darker as pilsners became very common to prove that the style is something special." - importer

Toren Ondineke Tripel....$12.99 / 750ml
"Ondineke, subtitle Oilsjtersen Tripel (Tripel from Aalst) was the second beer of De Glazen Toren introduced under its own label.Ondineke derives its name from the main character of the most famous novel of the most renowned author of Aalst ( De Kapellekensbaan by Louis Paul Boon, translated into English in the early seventies as “Chapel Road”). A statue of Ondineke can be found at the entrance of the City Hall of Aalst. Ondineke is a classic tripel, brewed in the ancient way, again with exclusive natural ingredients: artesian water, malt (barley), hops, yeast and liquid candy sugar. As in the Saison no spices are added. Ondineke is an unfiltered top fermenting beer. It is soft, creamy, and of golden color. It is double hopped with the last real hops available from the region of Aalst (The variety is Hallertau Mittelfrüh). Just like the Saison, Ondineke is bottled in 25.4 oz. bottles. The self-designed wrapper is white, yellow and red (the city colours of Aalst).Ondineke has a positive taste evolution and the bottles are best kept standing in a cool, dark place. It is best before two years after the bottling date. 8.5 % alc.vol. makes this a beer to be savoured. Preferably Ondineke is to be served at a temperature between 6 to 10° C. Moreover Ondineke is at its best when served in the originally designed Glazen Toren glass.

Limited Schneider Weisse Tap X Meine Porter Weisse

We only have 6 bottles in stock

Schneider Weisse Tap X Meine Porter Weisse...$10.99 / 750ml
During a meeting of brewing artists in London, Georg VI. Schneider and his friend Alistar had the unique idea of uniting both the English porter and the Bavarian wheat beer styles... A thought turned into reality and Schneider Weisse’s newest TAP X ’Meine Porter Weisse’, was born! TAP X ’Meine Porter Weisse’ is a singularly stunning new creation which expertly showcases the depths of the range these two heavyweights of beer, when tapped into, then offer. For the creation of the new TAPX 2014, George Schneider drew inspiration from some of his English brewing colleagues, “If you intensively busy yourself with the history of porter, closely examine its aroma profile and compare it to a classic wheat beer, you’ll soon realize that there is a basis for the development of an expressive character on this union”, says Schneider Weisse brewmaster Hans-Peter Drexler, when he explains the emergence of this new TAPX. “A historically bold but in taste ultimately a very appropriate combination of two wayward beer styles,”Drexler concludes. TAPX Meine Porter Weisse shimmers ebony-colored in your glass, crowed with a fine-pored, creamy head. Hints of chocolate and coffee come to your mind. The roasting flavors flatter your palate and award the beer with fine bitterness. A pleasantly dry mouthfeel completes this enjoyment. The complex aroma profile is the expression of a successful association of these contrasting beer styles. Georg Schneider himself gives us some of his own suggestions for possible food pairings with the new TAP X: „Personally, I’ve been enjoying the pairing of our TAPX ’Meine Porter Weisse’ most with hefty sausages or smoked bacon...it is then, when some wonderful memories of ’evenings at the pub’ back in London, arise.”

Free State Wheat State Golden

Free State Wheat State Golden...$7.99 / 6pk
In Kansas, like other states in the Great Plains, the words “amber waves of grain” come alive. And as people who are no strangers to farms and farming ourselves, we thought it valuable to craft a beer that is made from the grain that Kansas is known for, and positively perfect for quenching your thirst at the end of a long, hard day of work – or play.

New from italy - Theresianer

New from Italy

Theresianer Pils...$11.99 / 6pk
Every time you experience the refined taste...you will have to go back again: Pilsen, a little town in the Czech republic, not far from Bavaria where the beer was invented. Here, fine-husked distichous barley and the delicate aroma Saaz hops, have been grown for years.  The heart and soul of this beer, whose uniqueness
steals your senses with its balanced, decisive scent, and leaves no room for any other.

Light, brilliant beer with a particularly dry flavour that in the finish is enhanced by the fresh hints of malt and hop, typical of Pilsner tradition.

Theresianer Vienna Style Lager...$11.99 / 6pk
You may have met there, in the streets of the hapsburg capital where it was created in the early 1900's. Perhaps you have already savoured the perfect balance of malt and hops it achieves. Perhaps you are already under the spell of its colour: coppery from the fruity notes that entwine with the dried fruit and rub
shoulders with caramel. Now discover how mellow it is: natural but never excessive.

Beer with character and a perfect balance between malt and hop.  Fresh and delicate, it offers fruity notes and hints of caramel.

Woodchuck Cider in CANS

Hambleton Nightmare Yorkshire Porter

Hambleton Nightmare Yorkshire Porter...$7.49 / pint
 (5.0% abv)
“This dark stout or porter-type beer has black colour with a hint of ruby, and cappucino-coloured head. The nose is all about caramel and honey, with a biscuity richness. On the palate it is smooth and very creamy-textured, with a flood of bittersweet flavours. There’s a pungent hoppiness, but overlaid with dark chocolate and malt and a grippy, serious depth of flavour. With good length too, this is a fine, fine beer.” (4.5 out 5) Roger Protz, beer-pages.com

Hanssens Oudbeitje Lambic...$9.99 / 375ml
Strawberry Lambic
"The strawberries announce themselves in the nose, where they mingle with aromas of earth, sharp cheddar cheese, vanilla, yogurt, and a Riesling-like petrol note. The flavors turn out to be surprising - gentle sweetness quickly followed by fine acidity, and a wonderful fruitiness right through the center." -- Garrett Oliver, The Brewmaster's Table

"Hanssens Artisanaal is the last independent geuze blender in the whole world. At Hanssens, no beer is actually brewed! Instead, they pursue a profession that was very important in the history of lambic style beers, they are solely blenders of beer.

Lambic beers are famous for being "wild fermented". Instead of adding a special yeast strain to cause fermentation, some brewers in the Senne river valley leave the warm, sweet, unfermented beer (called wort) open to the elements. Wild strains of yeast and other micro organisms will then seed the liquid. Normally when brewing beer, a brewers yeast will be used to turn sugar into alcohol and certain flavor elements of the beer. In these wild beers, yeast and others will turn sugar into alcohol, acid, and a huge variety of flavor chemicals.

Since each batch is different, the beer has to be blended with multiple batches to create a consistent product. Most lambics are created from a mixture of aged sour beer and young, sweeter beer. They are then barrel aged to combine the flavors.

Hanssens takes this a step further, and actually blends batches from different breweries in their area. This used to be a very common practice, but Hanssens is now the last remaining blender. They bring to this endeavor a variety of barrels, some up to one hundred years old, and a passion and a love for the tradition of Geuze and Lambics. They will also add whole fruits to some of their beers, to make even more flavorful blends.

Hanssens Bartholomeus, former major of Dworp, started to brew lambic in 1871, in the previous Sint-Antonius brewery. Documents have proven that he continued to brew, from 1896 onwards, in buildings located in the Vroenenbosstraat, Dworp. These premises are still used." -- importer

Two Hearted Ale is defined by its intense hop aroma and malt balance. Hopped exclusively with the Centennial hop varietal from the Pacific Northwest, massive additions in the kettle and again in the fermenter lend their characteristic grapefruit and pine resin aromas. A significant malt body balances this hop presence; together with the signature fruity aromas of Bell's house yeast, this leads to a remarkably drinkable American-style India Pale Ale.

Bottled May 29, 2014
Bell's Oberon...$8.49 / 6pk
Bell's Oberon is a wheat ale fermented with Bell's signature house ale yeast, mixing a spicy hop character with mildly fruity aromas. The addition of wheat malt lends a smooth mouthfeel, making it a classic summer beer

Marchesi Antinori Cervaro della Sala - 94 Points

2011 Marchesi Antinori Cervaro della Sala....$43.99
Marchesi Antinori’s estate in Umbria is a revolutionary force for the region. The amazingly successful Cervaro della Sala has arguably done more to raise the image of Italian white wine than any other single bottle.

The 2011 Cervaro della Sala is an outstanding expression that will benefit from many more years of careful aging. The blend of Chardonnay and Grechetto opens to golden rays of luminous brilliance that glimmer through the glass. The bouquet is beautifully shaped by toasted almond, vanilla, clove, orange zest, stone fruit and honey. Mineral notes add dimension to what is otherwise a super-rich and balanced mouthfeel. The 2011 vintage shows unique energy and intensity. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025.

Brachetto d'Acqui

As school closes for the year and temperatures heat up I find myself looking for lighter, lower alcohol drinks for the long lazy summer evenings. I'm calling it now Brachetto is the official summer drink of 2014.

Like many of the Italian wine regions, this wine has a story behind it. Traditionally it was very popular with the most famous character in the Italian comedy of masks, Gianduja da Gioan d'Laduja (Giovanni of the Jug). This character's high spirits and bubbly personality were compared to the fragrant red Brachetto d'Acqui wine in the jug he invariably carried around with him. Brachetto d'Acqui's unique aroma and flavor stems from its natural sweetness, intense aromatics and low alcohol (around 5.5% alcohol by volume). This usually semi-sparkling frizzante red is characterized by its perfumed bouquet reminiscent of rose petals, strawberries and raspberries, and has a soft mousse (delicate foam) and mouthfeel. It is an excellent aperitif and provides an ideal match for fruit tarts, chocolate or Amaretti di Mombaruzzo, a traditional amaretto biscuit from the Acqui Terme area.

Come taste this refreshing Italian sparkler this Saturday at all 4 locations.

NEW Boulevard Entwined Ale

Boulevard Entwined Ale...$9.99 / 6pk
Style: Malt Beverage Brewed with Grape Juice
Entwined Ale is the first production batch of a test beer formerly referred to as Nelson. While the recipe was adjusted slightly from the original tests, the use of Muscat juice remains the focus. The juice was combined with pale malt in the brewhouse for a beer that is light both in body and in color. It was hopped exclusively with a New Zealand hop variety called Nelson Sauvin, known for its tropical fruit and white wine-like aromatics. This unique session ale has a refreshing, slightly tart finish.

Includes 1 of each
  • Arrogant Bastard Jalapeno Heat Hot Sauce
  • Oakded Arrogant Bastard Chipolte Hot Sauce
  • Double Bastard Double Burn Habanero
Introduced in 1997, Arrogant Bastard Ale immediately developed a following among "those who know" (a.k.a. "the Worthy"). Arrogant Bastard Ale is an aggressive beer and not for the timid or weak. As such, it demands pairing with food that takes the same stance. So when our similarly (and appropriately) arrogant friends at Carlsbad Gourmet approached us to collaborate on a hot sauce recipe made with Arrogant Bastard, not only did we say yes - we said, "Let's make three!" All these hot sauces are brewed, stewed and bottled on the edge of the Pacific Ocean - just a few short miles from our brewery. Only in such close proximity could we trust anyone to make these astounding sauces with our trio of black sheep ales. We keep a careful watch on them. And on you --- we are watching you now --- don't let yourself down, and do NOT let us down. This is the Bastard Trinity. They shall deliver you from mediocrity, whether you want it or not.
