Rare Michel Niellon Burgundy - in stock now!

2011 Michel Niellon Chassagne Montrachet....$53.99
Pale straw-yellow. Aromatic nose features pear and flowers. Smooth and light on its feet, with harmonious ripe acidity energizing the middle palate. With its attractive sugar/acid balance and firm spine, this is more vibrant than the 2012 village wine. Drink or hold. Coutoux noted that the yield here was almost 60 hectoliters per hectares, compared to 40 in 2012. But this wine has more charm. 89 points

2011 Michel Niellon Chassagne Montrachet Clos de la Maltroie 1er Cru...$84.99
Bright, pale yellow with a green tinge. Soil-driven, precise aromas of pear, clove oil and smoky minerality. Minerally and tightly wound, with good stony cut to its lemon and menthol flavors. Finishes juicy, gripping and long, with noteworthy saline minerality. Strong juice, but dominated by its structure in the early going. 91(+?) points

2011 Michel Niellon Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru...$299.99
Pale straw-yellow. Ripe yellow peach complemented by smoky oak. Deeply pitched, plush and seamless, with ripe, oily flavors of pineapple and wet stone reminding me a bit of riesling. With its wonderfully round, open-knit texture, this is like liquid silk in the mouth and incredibly easy to drink now. 94 points
