The 2010 Pinot Noir Estate is an exceptionally elegant wine. Dried cherries, plums, exotic spices, mint and crushed flowers waft from the glass, with plenty of lift from the use of 50% whole clusters. There is a lot of personality here, but readers will need to be very patient while the stems integrate. The 2010 is striking from start to finish. I can’t wait to see how this stunning Pinot ages. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030."

Another highlight among these new releases, the 2009 Pinot Noir Selleck Vineyard is made in a much more fruit-driven style than some of the other Pinots in this lineup. It boasts stunning depth and richness, but in the classic Calera style that never abandons a sense of structural finesse. Juicy dark berries, hard candy, flowers and herbs wrap around the rich, textured finish. This is yet another dazzling Pinot from Calera. Selleck is a site with a south/southwestern exposure. The 2010 Pinot Noir Lindsay Estate is once again impeccable. Silky, suave tannins buffer layers of expressive dark red fruit. Today the 2010 Lindsay comes across as a bit inward, but there is no denying the wine’s elegant, polished personality. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. Rated 93-95/100 The Wine Advocate
