2008 Clos Erasmus Priorat...$169.99  - SOLD OUT

Always a benchmark against which all other Priorats must be measured, the 2008 Clos Erasmus is a great success. It consists of 80% Garnacha, 15% Syrah, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 22 months in new French oak. A glass-coating opaque purple color with an already complex bouquet of mineral, pain grille, Asian spices, tar, tapenade, and black cherry, on the palate it is dense, rich, and full-bodied with an elegance belying its size. Layered and opulent, it conceals enough structure to evolve for 6-8 years. It will deliver a drinking window extending from 2016 to 2028, perhaps longer. It is a true tour de force!

2009 Clos Erasmus Laurel...$49.99
The 2009 Laurel, tasted from a barrel sample, is a more masculine, brooding effort with aromas of minerals and black fruits that play it close to the vest. On the palate it has superb volume, great focus, impeccable balance, and a lengthy finish. In short, all the right stuff is present requiring only a bit of patience by those fortunate enough to find a few bottles.

2008 Clos Erasmus Laurel...$46.99
The 2008 Laurel is purple in color with a nose of exotic spices that jumps from the glass. Included in the array are notes of mineral, tapenade, black cherry, and blackberry. Dense on the palate with a deft combination of power and elegance, this is a remarkably fresh effort due to the acidity level common in the 2008 vintage. Give it 2-3 years in bottle and drink it from 2013 to 2023.
