Great wines of Penfolds

In stock now at Forysth!!

2005 Penfolds St. Henri Shiraz.....$119.99 1.5ltr (rare magnum)
Aromatic, complex and silky, slipping in its gorgeous blackberry, currant and plum fruit against a seething background of toast, spice, mineral and loamy earth. The texture is seamless, and the flavors just take off, sailing through the long, expressive finish. Best from 2011 through 2020. 1,000 cases imported. –HS
Rated 95/100 The Wine Spectator

2002 Penfolds St. Henri Shiraz....$59.99 / 750ml
Dense, juicy and powerfully aromatic, with a silky texture to the focused cherry and herb flavors that are long and expressive, melding together beautifully. Needs time to develop extra layers of flavor, which this should do.--St. Henri non-blind vertical. 3,800 cases imported. –HS
Rated 93/100 The Wine Spectator

2005 Penfolds Cellar Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz...$69.99
The most distinctive of blends, considering the sources, is the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon (65%) – Shiraz (35%) “Cellar Reserve.” The Cabernet component is sourced from Coonawarra and the Shiraz from Barossa. Opaque purple/black in color, the nose is redolent of pain grille, vanilla, Asian spices, violets, black currants, and blackberry liqueur. Full-bodied and firm on the palate, the wine has excellent depth, gobs of ripe fruit, and good balance but is an infant developmentally. Give this lengthy blend 8-10 years in the cellar and drink it through 2035.
Penfolds, arguably Australia’s most famous winery, continues to perform at a high level under the leadership of Head Winemaker, Peter Gago.
Rated 93+/100 The Wine Advocate
