Breckenridge Distillery in stock at Forsyth
The rolling waters of the Blue River carve a jagged fissure through the heart of Breckenridge Colorado. These river banks were once rich in alluvial gold deposits, washed down by glacial ice from the mother lode high in the surrounding mountain range. Such easy pickings were an irresistible lure for the prospectors and gold miners of the late 1800′s. Now mining gold is thirsty work, and a might bit profitable we’ve been told, so naturally the saloon and draft house became a fairly common sight along main street. It’s a common fact that wherever you find men with a loose grip on their money there inevitably arrives an entourage of loafers, gamblers and fancy men looking to fleece the spoils of their labors. If all this conjures an image of the iconic wild west mining town well your not wrong, it was exactly that. Fortunes were found and lost.
"We start with some of the finest tasting water nature has to offer. Natural snow-melt, drained through acres of mineral rich soil and stone from 14,000 ft elevation. We then marry it with grain spirits that have been carefully distilled to achieve the highest level of purity without reaching absolute neutrality of character. Slow filtration through a bed of natural coconut shell charcoal strips away traces of sulphur and chlorine to unveil the clean, lightly floral aromatic qualities. This careful process yields a premium Vodka with an imitable body and character.Simply put, we couldn’t make it this good anywhere else in the world."
"It’s good to have friends in the whiskey business, and we’ve been lucky enough to meet and share times with some of the industries’ most talented distillers and their most beloved barrels. These generous souls have opened their rick houses to share with us some of their finest products while we’ve patiently WAITED for the maturation of our own. We’re excited to offer special releases of Bourbon Whiskey from an exquisite blend of hand-picked barrels and rare finds from some of the most renowned producers around the country. We’ve carefully blended lots on a barrel-by-barrel basis with fine Breckenridge snow-melt water. This mingling of excellence gives our special release Bourbons a character all their own. Enjoy in good company!"
Breckenridge Bourbon takes Gold Medal in the International Wine and Spirits Competition!!!!!
Held in the UK, only three gold medals were awarded this year. Here’s what the judges had to say…
“Gorgeous youthful swipe of fresh flavours of corn, spice and oak. Baked apple and ginger meld with sweet corn and clean oak. Surprisingly complex for its age with all the nose had coming out in full flavours and the fruit and vanilla really taking control. Lively, spicy, fruit filled finish.”
