Jayson from Pahlmeyer

Jayson wines are named after Jayson Pahlmeyer. Jayson wines are made from the same barrels that go into Pahlmeyer. Jayson is the second label of Pahlmeyer and they represent some of the most amazing values from California in premium wine.

2007 Jayson Red....$47.99

48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec
“The 2007 Jayson Red features layers of black fruit - blackberry, black cherry and plum - with milk chocolate, baker's cocoa dust, tar and earth. It is dense in the mouth with big supple tannins and a lingering finish. This focused and balanced wine is gorgeous now but will continue to develop over the next 8 to 10 years.” – Erin Green, winemaker

2008 Jayson Chardonnay....$41.99
Winemaking Notes
The grapes were hand-sorted and gently whole-cluster pressed. After overnight settling, the juice was racked to barrels for 100% native wild yeast barrel fermentation followed by malo-lactic fermentation. The wine was aged in 90% new French oak barrels for eleven months on the lees, which were stirred weekly. It was not fined or sterile filtered.

Tasting Notes
“This wine has a nice green-yellow color. Its juicy mouthwatering flavors boast layers of tropical fruits and peach nectar accented with apricot croissants. The finish is rich, long and lingering with each layer unfolding beautifully.” – Erin Green, Winemaker

Erin Green...began working part time for both Helen Turley and Sonoma-Cutrer....Erin continued to work with Helen Turley on her clients' wines, including Bryant Family, Colgin, Martinelli and Pahlmeyer. The transition to becoming Director of Winegrowing and Winemaker for Pahlmeyer in 2000 was thus a natural move.
