2007 Mourrel Azurat Fitou....$13.99
I have always enjoyed wines from Fitou. You do not see too many of them here in St. Louis. This is a blend of 40% Mouvèdre, 30% Syrah, 15% Grenache,15% Carignan and is quite tasty!
"It marries Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre from the coastal portion of its appellation with Carignan from its mountainous interior, and delivers a simple but impressively palate-staining, rich yet downright refreshing load of ripe blackberry and black currant, tinged with smoke and underlain with crushed stone. While it will probably keep for a few years, I would opt to enjoy it over the next 12-18 months while the fruit is freshest." -- The Wine Advocate
