2004 Bourgneuf Pomerol....$29.99
"Rich and full, with a good consistency. Velvety, with a chocolate and toasty oak finish. Good sample. Score range: 89-91 –JS"
Rated 89-91/100 The Wine Spectator

2005 Chateau Haut Bages Liberal Pauillac...$49.99
"Very aromatic, showing blackberry and currant aromas, with some licorice. Full-bodied, with supersilky tannins and a rich, decadent, fruity finish. Caresses the palate. Stylish and opulent. Best after 2011. 10,000 cases made. –JS"
Rated 93/100 The Wine Spectator

2005 Chateau Pichon Baron Pauillac....$149.99
"As usual, this superb Pauillac possesses an inky/blue/black color in addition to a big, sweet nose of graphite, charcoal, burning embers, black currant liqueur, and toasty vanillin from new oak casks. Full-bodied with high but sweet, well-integrated tannins, the 2005 Pichon Baron is more backward than the blockbuster 2003 or prodigious 2000. Nevertheless, it is a superb effort whose power, length, and tannic structure suggest it should be at its peak between 2015-2035."
Rated 94/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Rated 94/100 The Wine Spectator

2005 Chateau Cantemerle.....$34.99
"Cantemerle’s new proprietors believe in producing delicate, beautifully wrought, finesse-styled wines that require some introspection. The deep ruby-hued 2005 displays aromas of licorice, roasted herbs, sweet cherries, and flowers. In the mouth, the wine seems almost light in comparison to its peers, but it possesses an ethereal seriousness, purity, and overall harmony that are striking for its delicacy and finesse. A blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest primarily Merlot with a tiny dollop of Cabernet Franc, it should be at its finest between 2012-2025+."
Rated 90/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

2005 Chateau Meyney St. Estephe....$33.99
"Aromas of currant and fresh flowers follow through to a medium-to-full body, with chewy tannins and a slightly woody finish, but the fruit comes through. Turns long and pretty. Best after 2010. –JS"
Rated 90/100 The Wine Spectator

2005 Chateau Lafon Rochet St. Estephe...$47.99
"At present, this structured, backward 2005 is dominated by the vintage’s substantial tannins. It exhibits a saturated ruby/purple color, a reticent but promising bouquet of sweet black fruits intermixed with weedy tobacco, licorice, and leather characteristics. Medium-bodied and powerful, with excruciating tannin, but promising potential, patience is most definitely required. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2030."
Rated 90/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

2004 Chateau Pavie St. Emilion....$519.99 / 3 liter
"A brilliant effort from proprietors Chantal and Gerard Perse, Pavie’s 2004 (7,050 cases) exhibits an inky/ruby/purple color, a surprisingly soft, forward style for this hallowed terroir, full-bodied, and concentrated creme de cassis flavors intermixed with cherries, truffles, and subtle smoky wood notes. Beautifully-textured as well as expansive, this may be the most developed and forward Pavie made by Perse since his acquisition of the property in 1998. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2025+."
Rated 95+/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
