We always have so many requests from our customers to do wine tastings at their house or office. The everyday work of the store has made it almost impossible for us to accommodate all of the requests. An old friend of the store, Chris Hoskins, is offering his wine knowledge and services. Chris has been in the wine business for 10 years and has traveled extensively to many of the great wine producing regions of the world. He has an amazing knowledge of wine and is an unbelievable teacher.

The charge for in-home or office events is $100 for two hours, $25 for each additional hour plus the cost of the wine chosen. Let Chris know your wine budget and he will pick out and deliver all of the wines for your event. He can custom build the tasting to your requirements, theme, or tastes. He can also bring Riedel stemware for your use and enjoyment for free ($8 / charge for each broken or for each glass not returned).

Hi. My name is Chris Hoskins. Some of you may know me
from the wine classes I teach at The Wine & Cheese place on Monday nights—great to see you again! For those of you who don’t, I’m a former wine wholesaler’s rep, now working in sales for a surgical device maker. I am excited to offer my expertise, and to remain active in the St. Louis wine community, by offering my services for in-home or in-office wine events. A little bit about my background: During my decade or so in the wine biz here in St. Louis, I devoted all my “working” hours to sourcing, tasting, procur
ing and selling fine wines. In fact “work” and “fun” were more or less the same. I loved showing drinkers in the show-me state great wines made by large and small artisan producers, from all over the world. Aside from the fun of selling wines locally, one of the great things about my old job was the chance to travel to some of the most beautiful and historic wine-producing regions in California, Europe, South America and beyond.... And as good as the travel was, the hospitality was even better! I was often the humble recipient 
of truly gracious entertaining, extended with warmth and generosity by some of the wine world’s leading figures. I look forward to custom-planning and executing a fun, educational, and memorable wine event for you!
